Before Salem, There Was the Not-So-Wicked Witch of the Hamptons --Not a recent article, but interesting.  I found it kind of funny that the Governor of the colony, an educated man, essentially didn't think the woman was smart enough to be doing the witchcraft she was accused of doing.  In other words, if an educated man like him couldn't do the stuff she was allegedly doing, then she must not be doing it either!
